October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in honour of this important campaign, Zomnotho Community Development NPO,in partnership with the Family Worship Centre,hosted a powerful awareness event dedicated to the well-being of women.
The day featured uplifting and informative sessions, including an insightful presentation by Dr T. Gilbert, who educated attendees on the various types of cancer affecting women,how to detect them early, and the importance of regular screening.
Zomnotho Community Development NPO played a key role in encouraging parents to take initiative in raising children in a healthy environment and setting positive examples. Additional sessions covered vital topics such as financial management and legal awareness, including the different types of marriages and women’s rights within those structures. These discussions empowered women with knowledge to protect both their health and their households.
The event was honoured by the presence of Cllr Zodwa Mzindle, Mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, whose support added significance to the day.
