Zomnotho NPO has successfully implemented a Rock Leadership Programme at eBashaweni, Ward 08 of Umuziwabantu Local Municipality, under the leadership of iNkosi Zungu.
This initiative has encouraged traditional and community leaders to become active agents in the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV). It further positions them as key stakeholders in guiding and supporting the community in addressing social challenges such as teenage pregnancy, drug and substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS.
Community leaders have committed themselves to protecting and mentoring young people, particularly in preventing alcohol abuse and other harmful behaviours
This intervention, will be implemented in partnership with Zomnotho Community Development NPO and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development through the YOLO Programme which provides a safe space for young people to discuss issues such as HIV prevention, teenage pregnancy, and sexuality, while empowering them to build resilience and make informed decisions about substance use and safe sexual practices.
