Zomnotho Community Development Centre

Zomnotho Community Development took the initiative to raise awareness among school learners within the Umdoni Municipality regarding mental health and suicide prevention. The awareness campaign was held yesterday at Bongumbhele Primary School and continued today at Sihle High School, following the recent suicide cases that were reported in the area.

Other stakeholders who participated in the programme included the South African Police Service (SAPS), Lifeline South Africa, and the Department of Social Development. Together, they engaged learners on mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and the importance of seeking help and support during difficult times.

The initiative aimed to educate learners, encourage open discussions, and promote positive coping mechanisms to help build healthier and more resilient communities.
