A community engagement held at eMalangeni, Ward 8, under Umdoni Municipality News, hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development Ugu District. Zomnotho Community Development NPO participated by facilitating the community dialogue.
Stakeholders present included SAPS, ETEA, GCIS, Department of Health, Ugu District Municipality Special Programmes, representatives of INkosi Shozi, the Ward Councillor, and Reverends and Bishops from local churches.
The dialogue provided community members with a platform to raise concerns regarding the high rate of GBV and teenage suicides in the area. Stakeholders engaged with the community on possible interventions, prevention measures, referrals, and support services.
